The raw data recorded by the stations and stored in hourly sessions with sampling at 1 and 30 seconds, are daily converted into RINEX and shared with other members of the GPS community through this site via ftp.

The data processing is realized by using the GAMIT/GLOBK using two kinds of orbits:

  • final high precision IGS orbits, available within 12-18 days of the end of the GPS week;
  • Fast IGS orbits available after 17-41 hours.

Two types of time series are retrieved:

  1. final time series calculated using the final orbits (with a latency of 29 days);
  2. preliminary time series covering the last month and calculated using fast orbits with a latency of only 3 days.

However, this section only reports the time series obtained using the final orbits.

The time series shows the velocities estimated in the ITRF14 system (Altamimi et al., 2016; in particular, we use the more up-to-date IGb14 reference system), the respective 1σ uncertainties and the normalized (nmrs) and weighted (wrms) root mean square deviation.

The velocity field is calculated (and updated annually) both in the International reference system ITRF14 and in the European system ETRF14, where the European plate is considered fixed according to the plate motion model of Altamimi et al., 2017. Here you can see the map of the calculated velocities, updated to the last obtained solution.
